The festival can either be celebrated in India or outside of India by people with Indian heritage or who are interested in Indian culture.
The festival includes lights, fireworks, and sugar cane lanterns which symbolize prosperity, strength, and knowledge. It also includes an exchange of gifts between friends and family members which emphasizes giving to others while also receiving from them at the same time.

The tradition of diwali is one that embraces light. It is an Indian festival, but it is celebrated around the world. The celebration overflows with many rituals and customs, but two things that define the day are lights and sweets. From candles to festivals lights, from sweets to savory dishes every corner of India has its own way of ushering in diwali.
This year on 24th October people across India and abroad celebrating Diwali with special pooja and bhajans at homes, co-working spaces and spiritual centers for a memorable celebrations. Some people also do the worship of Lakshmi devi.
